Privacy & your data

Your account: email address and the name you give us. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google — never your password.

Your learning: the words you save, the LULA links and reminders you write, your pathway, your streak and your review history. This is the app — without it there's nothing to come back to.

Your settings: languages, accent, speaking pace, learning goal.

Voice recordings: when you hold to speak, the audio clip is sent to be turned into text and is not stored by us afterwards.

To run your account, remember your words, schedule your reviews, generate audio and LULA link suggestions, and show you your progress. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising, and we do not build profiles for anyone else.

Our backend host stores your account and your words securely, with access rules that mean only you can read your own rows.

AI and speech providers receive the specific text or audio needed for a feature — the word you're learning, your spoken answer, your practice conversation — in order to return a suggestion, a transcript or a spoken clip. They are not given your email or your library as a whole.

If you connect an AI assistant to LULA yourself, it can read and add words on your behalf while you keep that connection open. You can revoke it any time.

For as long as your account exists. Delete your account and your words, progress and login are removed with it. Voice clips are transient and are not retained.

In Settings you can change your details, export every word you've saved as a file, and delete your account permanently. You can also email us to ask what we hold about you or to have it corrected.

LULA is intended for learners aged 13 and over. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

We store a sign-in token in your browser so you stay logged in, and small preferences like whether you've seen a tutorial. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
